Reply:how about a railway reservation system? I always found systems mimicking real time systems and with alot of players involved is very interesting in C++ - e.g., you could have a class called "Train", one called "Coach" with lots of seats in it, and one called "Passenger" which stores the choices/ preferences, etc. The entire program could enable the user to do reservation, cancel reservation, look up what dates and what seats are available, implement priority algorithms, implement locking (as system will be run in client server environment with clients all over the nation and server on a central computer that accesses a central database).
