Find the direction and magnitude of the following vectors.?

Vector A points in the negative y direction and has a magnitude of 7 units. Vector B has twice the magnitude and points in the positive x direction. Find the direction and magnitude of the following vectors.

A = -7j


B = 14i





A + B = 14i - 7j = 7(2i - j).


Magnitude 7sqrt(2^2 + 1^2) = 7sqrt(5).


Direction 360 - arctan(1/2).





A - B = -7j - 14i = -7(2i + j).


Magnitude 7sqrt(5).


Direction 180 + arctan(1/2).





B - A = -(A - B) = 7(2i + j).


Magnitude 7sqrt(5).


Direction arctan(1/2).
