Vectors using the mathematical method solve the problem?

Using the mathematical method, add the following vectors. Be sure to include the magnitude and direction for the resultant

A: 10 m @ 30 degrees SE

B: 4 m @ 45 degrees NW

C. 8 m @ 25 degrees SW

D: 1 m North

Vectors using the mathematical method solve the problem?
On the unit circle, the angle a from the x-axis has coordinates (cos a, sin a). If it is distance 2, say, then the coordinate is (2 cos a, 2 sin a). So we'll convert your angles into this sytem, get coordinates, and add.

10 meters at 30 degrees SE = 300 degrees,

so (10 cos 300, 10 sin 300) ~ (5, -8.66)

4 meters at 45 degrees NW = 135 degrees,

so (4 cos 135, 4 sin 135) ~ (-2.83, 2.83)

8 meters at 25 SW = 245 degrees,

so (8 cos 245, 8 sin 245) ~ (-3.38, -7.25)

1 meter north = 90 degrees,

so (cos 90, sin 90) = (1, 0)

Then sum the x-coordinates and the y-coordinates to get (-0.21, -13.08)
