Vectors again...?

vector A has a magnitude of 8 at an angle of 60 degrees from the x axis. vector B has a magnitude of 6 at an angle of -30 from the y axis. determine C=A+B and D=A-B.

Vectors again...?
Oh, very tricky!

An angle of + 60 degs. from the x-axis is EXACTLY THE SAME AS AN ANGLE of - 30 degs. from the y-axis !!!

Therefore the vector C = A + B has length 8 + 6 = 14, and the vector D = A - B has length 8 - 6 = 2. Both of these vectors, just like the original ones, are at + 60 degs. from the x-axis or - 30 degs. from the y-axis.

Live long and prosper.

P.S. I have to confess that you really got me there. I initially thought that BOTH angles were measured with respect to the x-axis. That was MUCH HARDER, yet I had worked it ALL OUT completely before re-reading the question and seeing how naively simple it was!
